George A. Hurt, M.D., is a Lynchburg neurosurgeon.
Dr. Hurt received the Dr. William H. Barney Award in 1998 for outstanding service as a physician. Dr. Hurt entered private practice in Lynchburg in 1971. He was president of the Neurosurgical Society of Virginia. He also is a member of the American College of Surgeons, American Association of Neurological Surgeons and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons.
Dr. Hurt is a graduate of the University of Virginia, and received his medical degree and residency training at the University of Virginia Medical School.
