Patient Satisfaction is a priority at Centra Health, and we listen to what our patients tell us about their stay in the hospital.  We invite their opinions about their care, the facility, the food, the physician, testing procedures, and how well we met their personal needs and those of their family. 

We use questionnaires to gather information, and then forward them for tabulation to Press Ganey and Associates, the world's largest vendor of patient satisfaction data.  Press Ganey compares the results of those surveys to those of other hospitals across the country.  Centra Health is then given a monthly report card that ranks us against other hospitals providing similar services.

Since 1999, Centra Health has been rated in the upper quartile of our comparison hospitals.  The Ambulatory Surgery Center at Virginia Baptist Hospital received a Compass Award in 2002 for sustaining its outstanding scores for more than two years.  Inpatient Services at Virginia Baptist Hospital continue to rank in the top 5% of all similar hospitals.  During 2005, Centra Health was designated as a Magnet Hospital, a nursing award given to only 3% of all healthcare facilities in the United States.
