Walker P. Sydnor Jr. is president of Scott Insurance Company, Virginia's oldest and largest employee-owned provider of insurance, benefits services and financial management.

His company has offices in Lynchburg, Roanoke, Danville, and Richmond; Greensboro and Charlotte, N.C.; and Knoxville, Tenn., as well as Captive Insurance operations in Bermuda.

Sydnor graduated from E.C. Glass High School and Hampden-Sydney College. He worked for insurance firms across the country before returning home to Lynchburg to join Scott Insurance Co.

Sydnor is vice chairman of the board of trustees at Lynchburg College. He is a member of First Presbyterian Church.
