The nursing community and the community at large (i.e. local, state, national and international) recognize the value of nursing in the organization.
In 2005, Centra nurses were awarded the highest level of national recognition when they achieved Magnet designation for excellence in nursing care at Lynchburg General Hospital and Virginia Baptist Hospital. This award has elevated the nursing staff to strive for even greater outcomes for our profession, patients and community. These achievements in excellence are highly valued as demonstrated by our on-going recognition at the local, state, national and international levels.
