The mission of the Centra Health Foundation is to develop resources to enhance and enrich the services, programs and facilities of Lynchburg General and Virginia Baptist Hospitals in order to assist the Centra Health system in meeting and solving community health problems.

The major objectives of the Foundation are to:

1. Sponsor Centra Health projects, programs and activities which address
   community health problems and issues.
2. Develop resources to fund indigent patient care at Centra Health facilities.
3. Assist Centra Health in providing the equipment and facilities necessary to
   assure excellent healthcare to its patients.
4. Provide stipends and scholarships to needy and deserving students who wish to
   pursue health careers in Central Virginia.

The Centra Health Foundation is committed to serve as a good steward of the community's resources entrusted to it by utilizing, safeguarding and enhancing them through sound financial practices.
