From Charlottesville/Lovingston/Amherst and Locations North of Lynchburg:

• Follow Rt. 29 South to Amherst. 
• Take exit 29 South Business/Madison Heights.
• Stay on 29S Business for 10.3 miles.
• Take exit for Route 163 South Lynchburg (Exit is first one passed the Lowe's stoplight).
• In 1.5 miles, Route 163 turns into 5th Street (Martin Luther King, Jr., Boulevard).
• Proceed 1.5 miles, then turn right onto Langhorne Rd/501 North Business.
• In 0.5 miles, turn right onto Atherholt Rd (Wachovia Bank is on the right).
• At next stoplight, turn left.
• Go through the next stop light, and turn right into the parking lot.  This is the Terrace Entrance to Lynchburg General Hospital.

For Lynchburg General Hospital: For patient pick up or drop off turn right on Atherholt and go to first traffic light. Turn left onto Thompson Drive and go one and a half blocks.Turn left into Terrace Entrance parking (across from the Terrace Entrance).

For the Emergency Department: Turn right onto Atherholt and go two blocks. Turn right and follow signs to the ED.

From Danville/Chatham/Gretna/Altavista and Locations South of Lynchburg:

Follow Rt. 29 North to Lynchburg and merge onto Rt. 29 North, Lynchburg Expressway, at River Ridge Mall.Follow Rt. 29 North to Exit 3B for Rt. 501 North Bus. and Kemper Street.Go about .4 miles to the traffic light at 12th St. The Greater Lynchburg Transportation Center (GLTC) bus station is on the left.From this traffic light you have the choice of turning left or going straight to reach the hospital. We recommend that you turn left, following the signs for 501 N. Business. Go one block to the next traffic light - Campbell Ave. - and turn right, continuing on 501 N. Business. Campbell Ave. becomes Langhorne Road. Stay on Langhorne Road for 1 mile to Atherholt Road (Wachovia Bank is on the right).

From Farmville/Appomattox and Locations East of Lynchburg:

• Take U.S. 460 West to the first Lynchburg exit for 501 N. Business. There is a blue H hospital sign just before the exit. There are two overhead signs at the exit. The left hand overhead sign says to go straight on 501 N for Roanoke. DO NOT GO STRAIGHT. The right hand sign says to exit for North 29, South Boston, 501 South, West Business 460 and North Business 501.Take this exit!
• From here you are 4 miles from Lynchburg General Hospital. Continue straight on 501 N Business for 2 miles to U. S. 29. It is Campbell Avenue for the first portion and changes to Kemper Street.
• When you come to U.S. 29 continue straight across the highway and go .4 miles to the traffic light at 12th St. The Greater Lynchburg Transportation Center (GLTC) bus station is on the left.
• From this traffic light you have the choice of turning left or going straight to reach the hospital. We recommend that you turn left, following the signs for 501 N. Business.
• Go one block to the next traffic light (Campbell Ave., again!) and turn right, continuing on 501 N. Business.

• Follow Route 501 North past the U.S. 460 interchange where it becomes 501N Business. DO NOT TURN ONTO 501N AT THE U.S. 460 INTERCHANGE.
• From here it is 4 miles to Lynchburg General Hospital. Continue straight on 501 N Business for 2 miles to U. S. 29. It is Campbell Avenue for the first portion and changes to Kemper Street.

• Continue for 0.9 miles through 2 traffic lights to right hand exit for Rt. 29 North.
• Follow Rt. 29 North (Lynchburg Expressway) to Exit 3B for Rt. 501 North Bus. - Kemper Street.
