Pediatric specialty clinics at Virginia Baptist Hospital

Centra Health's Women and Children's Assessment Center at Virginia Baptist Hospital is designed to help women and children with special health care needs. Centra Health, in affiliation with Carilion Healthcare System and the University of Virginia Medical Center, provides pediatric specialty clinics. Appointments at the assessment center are by physician referral.

Specialty clinics include:

GYN/Oncology

The Women and Children's GYN/Oncology clinic is the center of an integrated cancer care network including education, local health care facilities and patient care services. For information, call (434) 947-4076.

Genetics

The Genetics Clinic provides diagnostic evaluation, specialized testing and treatment for infants, children and adults with genetic concerns, including congenital anomalies, chromosome abnormalities, failure to thrive, developmental delays and family history of genetic conditions. Pediatric Allergy & Asthma

The center offers diagnosis and treatment for allergic and non-allergic rhinitis, anaphylaxis, angioedema, asthma, atopic dermatitis, drug allergy, food allergy, insect hypersensitivity, recurrent sinusitis and urticaria. For information, call (434) 947-3542.

Pediatric Cardiology

The clinic offers outpatient evaluation of all congenital and acquired forms of heart disease as well as follow-up care for children who have had cardiac surgery. For information, call (434) 947-3542.

Pediatric/Neonatal Development

The clinic evaluates and manages high-risk infants with developmental concerns as well as complex management problems following discharge from intensive care nurseries. For information, call (434) 947-4542.

Pediatric Pulmonology

The clinic provides comprehensive evaluation and care for children with pulmonary (lung) conditions such as asthma, chronic cough, pneumonia, respiratory illnesses such as respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) or respiratory disorders related to prematurity. For information, call (434) 947-5735.
