Who can use the services offered through Health E-community?
Anyone can sign up to use the free service and create a Personal Health Record. If your doctor also participates in Health E-community, you may take advantage of additional physician correspondence services.

How much does it cost to communicate with my physician online?
There is no charge for routine communications, such as appointment requests, lab results and medication refill requests. Your physician may offer WebVisits which enable you to communicate directly with your physician for treatment. This type of visit may be a covered benefit through your health insurance. In the event that you and your physician initiate a WebVisit then you may be charged a fee. The fee for a WebVisit is usually less than a normal office visit. It can also save you time and travel expense.

Is my privacy protected?
Health E-community, a service of Centra powered by RelayHealth®, is a completely secure and HIPAA-compliant service. Encryption technology and a stringent privacy policy protect your personal information more securely than either the telephone or regular e-mail. Your information is only accessible by you, your doctor and your doctor’s authorized staff.
