Helping adults recover from chemical dependency since 1984, Pathways is a nonprofit chemical dependency (addiction to alcohol or drugs) treatment program. Fully licensed and accredited, Pathways offers a broad spectrum of treatment ambulatory (outpatient) services including detoxification, day treatment, on-site hotel services with 24-hour supervision, intensive outpatient, Family Program and continuing care programs. Since the inception of Pathways For Women in 1996, Pathways has provided gender specific treatment.
Chemical dependency is treated as a primary disease, although it can coexist with other illnesses, both physical and psychological. Chemical dependency involves not only compulsive use of alcohol and/or drugs, but also symptoms, feelings, and behaviors that ultimately affect the family and significant others. Our treatment plans are designed to help both the patient and family to begin the recovery process, which includes a chemical-free lifestyle.

Who We ServePathways serves patients age 18 or older, and referrals and admissions are accepted Monday through Saturday during business hours. We invite collaboration from referring professionals family and friends.

Pathways is just one of a full range of programs offered by the Mental Health Services division of Virginia Baptist Hospital.
Admission ProcedureAdmission to Pathways is voluntary. Patients can self-refer for treatment or can be referred by family, physician, employer, pastor, or friend. Most insurance carriers cover a portion of the cost of chemical dependency treatment.
