Pediatric Virtual Tour
Our pediatric unit serves sick children from birth to their teens. We focus on family-centered care, because we recognize that when a child becomes ill and hospitalized it affects the entire family. Our staff is part of an interdisciplinary team that works with families to deal with juvenile diabetes, asthma, sickle cell anemia, cystic fibrosis and other diagnoses. If you are looking for information on a broad range of topics dealing with children and teens, including common childhood ailments, behavioral problems, toilet training, drug use and more, visit our health information center.
All of our pediatric patient rooms are private, with a bathroom. Family caregivers are provided with an sleeper sofa or chair in the patient's room. Other items within the rooms are TV/VCR, kangaroo rocker/recliner, and a "story board" to display the patient's cards, drawings, and daily plan of care. A child-sized table and chairs also allow families optional seating and activity areas.
The unit's decor centers around bright, primary colors making not only our pediatric patients feel welcomed, but families, visitors, and staff, as well.
We also offer a free meal service for parents who do not wish to leave their child. We understand that children may have fears about being in the hospital. Our pediatric nursing staff are experienced and sensitive to meeting your child's needs.
For the convenience of you and your child, and so that you don't have to travel out of town, we have established a pediatric specialty outpatient center to meet your child's special needs. These services include:
Your physician or health care provider will make the necessary referrals should your child need these specialized services.
