Prolacta Donor Milk Program

Help Premature Babies in the NICU

Do you have extra breast milk?

Are you and your baby healthy?

Do you want to help a premature baby get a healthier start in life?

Your Extra Breast Milk Can Make a Difference to Premature Infants

Milk donated through Prolacta will ensure Centra can provide the specialized nutritional care these fragile babies need! The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends the use of human milk – mother’s own or pasteurized donor milk if mom’s own milk is not available – for all preterm infants.1 Centra is working with Prolacta Bioscience® to provide 100% human milk nutritional products to babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Through this program, mothers from the community can select a Prolacta-affiliated milk bank that best meets their needs. Prolacta offers a network of milk banks where the donor either receives direct compensation for her milk donation or opts to have a charitable contribution made on her behalf.

Prolacta-Affiliated Donor Milk Banks Provide:

• Free donor testing
• Free breast milk storage bags
• Free shipping

We Make It Easy for You

Donate from the comfort of your own home at no cost to you. After a health screening, mothers receive free supplies for storage and have their excess milk picked up from their homes. The breast milk is sent to Prolacta Bioscience, a for-profit, scientifically-driven company, where it is tested, pasteurized and made into 100% human milk nutritional products that are formulated to meet the needs of critically ill premature infants in the NICU.
