Dr. Hilliard is Board Certified in Radiation Oncology and attended Louisiana State University and received her undergraduate degree in Microbiology with honors and then attended Louisiana State University Medical school. She completed her radiation oncology training at Wake Forest and served on the clinical faculty at Duke University prior to moving to Virginia.

During her tenure in Lynchburg, she has distinguished herself with both academic pursuits and advancements in patient care. She has particular interest in breast cancer and chaired regional symposia, serves on the Breast Program Leadership Council of the Centra Comprehensive Breast Program, and holds postgraduate training in breast brachytherapy. She has clinical interest in advancements in the treatment of head and neck cancer and past research experience in voice quality after radiotherapy. She holds postgraduate training in prostate brachytherapy and stereotactic radiosurgery. She was named a Claude Moore Leadership Fellow of the Medical Society of Virginia, class of 2009-2010, serves on the Executive Committee of the Lynchburg Academy of Medicine, serves as a delegate to the Medical Society of Virginia, and continues executive training with the American College of Physicians Executives.

Survivorship and Oncology Rehabilitation are current areas of focus as she continues to expand the services provided at the Cancer Center. She is a champion of increasing cancer awareness and was the founder of the Night of Hope and collaborated with Centra Foundation to establish the Patient Care Fund, a fund that serves to bridge the gap in services for our underserved patients of central Virginia. She is taking new patients and sees all adult general radiation oncology patients.
