Skin Cancer Screenings

Thursday, May 2, and Thursday, May 9, 2019

*The 2019 Skin Care Screening is now full. If you would like to be put on a wait list, you can contact Molleigh Tomlin at 434.200.6093*

May is Skin Cancer Awareness Month, and local dermatologists and Centra Alan B. Pearson Regional Cancer Center are offering free skin cancer screenings to our community. Skin cancer is the most common of all cancers. When detected early and treated properly, even melanoma, the most serious type of skin cancer, is curable. More than one million cases of highly curable basal cell or squamous cell skin cancer will be diagnosed in the United States this year, according to the American Cancer Society.

Screenings will be conducted in private rooms by a dermatologist or other healthcare professional specially trained in detecting skin cancer. Participating providers include Dermatology Consultants, Seven Hills Dermatology, and Ridgeview Dermatology.

This screening is available to anyone who does not have a dermatologist or who has not had a skin cancer screening in the last year. Space is limited. To register, fill out the form below or call Molleigh Tomlin 434.200.6093. It is important to catch skin cancer early, and an important part of catching it early is skin cancer screenings. Your dermatologist can also do these screenings for you.
