Health Screenings

Health screenings are an excellent way to raise awareness about common diseases and, in some situations, identify disease in its early stages.  The benefit is realized when patients take the next step, seeing their physician for diagnosis and treatment.  Centra Bedford Memorial Hospital can provide screenings for your workplace, club/organization, or community event.  Contact Christy Lucy at 540-425-7619 for details.

Community Health Needs Assessment

Community Health Needs Assessment
Community Health Needs Assessment

Many and varied organizations are involved in the essential work of improving and maintaining the health of any given community. It is important to assess the health concerns of each community periodically to ensure that current needs are being addressed. A Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) every few years will uncover issues, indicate where improvement goals are needed, and track and promote progress in key areas, so that there is demonstrated, ongoing improvement. In 2015, Bedford Memorial Hospital collaborated with local organizations to complete a CHNA.  The work of conducting the CHNA and the public availability of its findings is intended to enable health-oriented organizations across the community to plan effectively the vital work of maintaining and improving health.
