Breastfeeding-Friendly Campaign

Breastfeeding-Friendly Campaign
Breastfeeding-Friendly Campaign

Centra Southside Community Hospital invites you to make your establishment breastfeeding friendly!  We all know breastmilk improves the health of both babies and mothers; it is ecologically and economically advantageous, and yet it requires the support of the whole community!  By posting our "Breastfeeding Welcome" sticker on your store window, your business will be advertised as breastfeeding friendly on our CSCH website and Facebook page as well as families will be directed to your establishment when searching for breastfeeding-friendly venues.

By allowing women to breastfeed on your business premise, you are also complying with state legislation.  Virginia statue 18.2-387 on indecent exposure states that, "No person shall be deemed to be in violation of this section for breastfeeding a child in any public place or any place where others are present."

If you have any questions please contact Fran Hill, RN, IBCLC at 434.315.2680
