More than 100 active, dedicated volunteers have been serving the patients, visitors and staff at Centra Southside Community Hospital for more than 75 years and dedicated more than 64,000 hours of their time in 2015. In addition to the many hours of service, the auxiliary has raised and contributed funds toward such projects as nursing scholarships, a pediatric crash cart for the Emergency Room,  blanket warmers for same-day surgery, and home health and newborn scales. They also established The Guild Fund which provides funding to buy prescriptions for those who cannot afford them.
