We offer comprehensive psychological evaluations for ADHD, Learning Disabilities, and Autism.   Our Center’s clinical team has expertise in learning and behavior are skilled in the evaluation and treatment of learning and developmental disabilities. Starting with the initial assessment through the entire course of treatment, we work with our patients, their families, and school personnel to conduct and implement the following evaluations and treatments.

Pediatric Psychological Evaluations

The process of treating a new patient starts with a thorough assessment in order to make the correct diagnosis and develop the most effective therapies. Because everyone learns in different ways, our evaluations help us choose the strategies and services personalized to each patient’s individual needs.

An  evaluation typically consists of the following elements:

  • Interview with parents about the child’s history
  • Interview with child
  • Individual testing (which involves having the child perform paper-and-pencil and hands-on activities, answer questions, and sometimes use a computer)

An evaluation assesses the following areas:

  • Attention and concentration
  • Full Scale IQ
  • Speech and language
  • Phonological and audiological functioning
  • Verbal and visual memory
  • Visual motor integration
  • Executive functioning skills (such as planning, attention, and inhibition)
  • Fine motor functioning
  • Intellectual ability
  • Academic skills
  • Emotional functioning
  • Interpersonal functioning

Raising a child is a rewarding and challenging time for any family - but when children exhibit the behavioral or developmental issues associated with autism spectrum disorders, sometimes extra support and guidance is needed.  Our services are designed to meet the unique needs of children and youth up to age 21 and their families, helping everyone overcome obstacles and create foundations for future success.

Our program uses research-supported practices of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy, an evidence-based approach that helps children with autism, developmental disabilities, and developmental/global delay and their families develop new skills together. We focus our data-driven methods on both the individual child and the family system as a whole to support progress.  Working with families in their own environment can also help reduce family stress and improve a child’s functioning.

Most insurance and Medicaid accepted.
