Grants
Centra Health
Grants
Applications are due March 1
Centra is committed to improving the overall health status in the communities and regions in which it serves. To provide a deeper understanding of our community’s primary health needs, and to develop an implementation strategy to address these needs, every three years Centra and the Centra Foundation help sponsor Community Health Needs Assessments (CHNA). The 2018 assessments were undertaken by the collaborative Partnership for Healthy Communities, supported by Centra, Centra Foundation, Community Access Network, Centra Virginia, Piedmont and Pittsylvania/Danville Health Districts, Greater Lynchburg Community Foundation, Johnson Health Center and United Way of Central Virginia.

Part of Centra’s strategy to improve the health of our community includes awarding grants to nonprofit organizations for projects that address the needs prioritized in the CHNA. Applications for grant funding are reviewed and approved by the Centra Foundation Board of Directors.
