Centra Lynchburg General Hospital recently received the American Heart Association’s Mission: Lifeline® Heart Attack Receiving Center Re-Accreditation. The hospital has held this accreditation since 2011. The accreditation program – provided by the American Heart Association – recognizes centers that meet or exceed quality of care measures for people experiencing the most severe type of heart attack.

A special thank you to Peter O’Brien, MD, LGH Director Cardiac Cath Lab for continuing to lead Centra to do the best for its patients and community. A big thank you to the Caregivers from Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Emergency Department (ED), Cath Lab, Cardio-Thoracic Intensive Care Unit (CTICU), and CIMU. Because of all of our Caregivers’ passion and willingness to work together, Centra has sustained success for heart attack patients. Timely patient care and quality is the top priority.
