We know that substance misuse changes normal desires and priorities. It changes normal behaviors and interferes with the ability to work, go to school, and to have good relationships with friends and family.

Addiction Treatment at Centra
Centra provides comprehensive support for individuals who want to reduce chemical dependency and regain control of their lives. Knowing that substance use is often seen alongside other psychiatric disorders, such as depression, anxiety, and trauma, our programs leverage the expertise and wide-ranging mental health and evaluative services throughout Centra Virginia Baptist Hospital and CMG Piedmont Psychiatric Center.
Addiction care is provided in a variety of environments—including inpatient, residential, and outpatient programs - in order to meet the needs of all out patients. In-depth assessment, personalized treatment, case management, and ongoing support and education are hallmarks of these services.
Our residential program, Pathways Recovery Lodge, has 15 private rooms with baths, incredible views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, hiking trails, workout facilities, and caring staff who provide personalized treatment to clients as they begin their recovery.

Additional Programs
- Medicated Assisted Treatment
- Medical Stabilization - at Virginia Baptist Hospital where patients in withdrawal are medically supervised by physicians and nurses, typically for 3-4 days. That unit accepts patients with Medicaid, Medicare and commercial insurance.
- Intensive Outpatient Program -where local/regional clients come for treatment for three hours, four days a week for six weeks, either during the day or in the evening.
