Our approach to care
CMG Piedmont Psychiatric Adult Urgent Care (PPAUC) offers walk-in psychiatry and behavioral health services specialized for Adults 18+. PPAUC is a steppingstone between the time your mental health symptoms began and your next psychiatric appointment.
If you or your child are under the age of 18 and need mental health services, please go to the nearest Emergency Department or schedule an Outpatient appointment with your child's psychiatrist.
DON’T WAIT if you or someone you know is experiencing an acute psychiatric crisis, such as suicide or overdose, call 911 immediately and/or go to the nearest Emergency Department.
If you are experiencing new or worsening psychiatric symptoms, turn to Piedmont Psychiatric Adult (18+) Urgent Care:
- Mood disorders (e.g. depression or severe anxiety)
- Upsetting thoughts (e.g. thinking of suicide. thoughts of harming yourself or others, or repetitive intrusive thoughts)
- Psychosis (e.g. hallucinations, delusions or very disorganized thoughts)
- Uncontrolled behaviors (e.g. repeated checking, touching, arranging or counting)
What to expect when you go to Piedmont Psychiatric Adult Urgent Care:
- Park and walk in, check in and complete forms
- Clinical intake with Medical Assistant
- Provider visit with a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
- Follow up psychiatric provider appointment or referral to appropriate level of care
What we cannot do:
- Addiction and Recovery Services
- A complete formal medication clearance, court-ordered evaluations or forensic requests
- Clear patients to return to work or school
- Assess patients solely for housing or other resource issues
- Follow patients for continuing care
