Excellent educational opportunity! June 11th - June 13th
Centra’s Bedford Medical Career Camp provides three days of robust hands-on activities and observational experiences for middle school students interested in exploring the exciting world of health care careers. Students participate in hands-on activities with Centra Bedford Memorial Hospital staff from a variety of different teams and departments.
By the end of the camp, we hope students will have a broad understanding of the career opportunities available to them and the pathways they can take to enter these exciting and fast-growing careers!
This is a 3-day camp for rising 6th, 7th, or 8th grade students who have a desire to learn about careers in healthcare.
Camp sessions will include activities & education on the following services areas and departments:
- Nursing
- Lab
- Respiratory
- Radiology
- Infection Prevention
- Primary Care
- Sheriff’s Office
Cost
A $30 camp fee covers the cost of one t-shirt, lunch and snacks for the camp for one camper.
Location of Camp
All camp sessions take place at Susie G. Gibson Science & Technology Center in Bedford, Virginia

9am - 3pm daily
Acceptance notification
Deadline to apply is Friday, May 3rd. The student will be notified of their acceptance into the camp via email by a Centra staff member by Friday, May 10. If the student does not receive acceptance into the camp, they will be placed on a waiting list and will be notified if an open spot has been made available.
