Centra Hematology Oncology Clinic FAQ (May 2024 update)
How many providers are currently with the Centra Hematology and Oncology Clinic?
Centra has seven doctors and 11 Advanced Practice Providers in our Lynchburg clinic and one doctor in Farmville. Radiation oncology remains the same with three doctors and one Advanced Practice Provider. We anticipate more locum providers joining Centra over the next several months.
We are excited to welcome Dr. Tebit and Dr. MacCallum to the Centra Hematology and Oncology Clinic. Dr. Tebit joined Centra in May, and Dr. MacCallum will begin seeing patients June 7th.
What if I have not been contacted about an upcoming appointment?
We are making every effort to notify patients prior to their appointments to discuss their provider plan. (about 3-7 days beforehand) If your appointment date is approaching and you have not received a call, please reach out to our office by calling 434.200.5925.
When do Dr. Tebit and Dr. MacCallum start?
Dr. Tebit is already seeing patients and Dr. MacCallum will return to the Cancer Center on June 7th.
How can I switch back to Dr. Tebit or Dr. MacCallum?
If you have an appointment with Dr. Tebit or Dr. MacCallum in the future, you will remain with them, unless you choose not to. You can transfer your care back to Dr. Tebit or Dr. MacCallum by calling 434.200.5925.
We recognize there could be delays as these providers begin their new schedules and are scheduling patients as quickly as possible.

What can you tell me about a locum provider?
A locum doctor is a medical professional who works with patients during a specified period of time and conducts the same tasks as an employed physician. Being a travel provider/locums does not mean they will leave immediately. We do hope to recruit some of our fantastic locum providers to join the Centra team.
We are continuing to actively recruit new providers to our community.
