Effective communication is crucial, and given the constraints of traditional mail services, we are committed to ensuring that our patients and community receive important information promptly. To expedite the sharing of this information the letter sent to patient's homes is also available for preview here.

A letter to our valued patients,

This letter is to inform you that Lynchburg Hematology and Oncology Clinic informed Centra of its desire to end their contract with us. This news might bring about mixed feelings, as change often does. However, I want to assure you that your care and well-being remain our highest priority.

Beginning April 1, 2024, Centra is launching the Centra Medical Group Hematology and Oncology Clinic. This new clinic will include a team of twelve (12) providers, replacing the role of Lynchburg Hematology and Oncology Clinic as Centra’s partner in Lynchburg and Farmville.

The opening of these clinics represents Centra’s commitment to continuity of care for our patients close to home. Additionally, the creation of these clinics will allow Centra to grow cancer care services through improved access to cancer care in our region and expanded clinical research.

Your medical records, treatment plans and ongoing care will be transferred to a new provider with Centra Medical Group Hematology and Oncology Clinic starting April 1, 2024. To ensure a seamless transition, we will contact you regarding any upcoming appointments. Our entire team is here to support you while also working to minimize any disruptions to your care.

If you desire to move your care to another provider outside of the Centra Medical Group Hematology and Oncology Clinic, you may contact us to obtain a copy of your records or to request that we send a copy of your records to that provider. You will need to sign a release of information form, which may be obtained from our office by calling (434) 200-5925 and selecting option number 5.

Should you have any concerns or questions about these upcoming changes, please do not hesitate to reach out to us! Your trust in Centra is deeply appreciated, and we sincerely thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
