Lynchburg Radiology formerly known as Radiology Consultants of Lynchburg (RCL) and Centra announced today Centra has purchased Lynchburg Radiology’s Imaging Center assets currently known as Central Virginia Imaging.
This transition is geared towards consolidating and harmonizing services, ultimately enhancing the patient experience and ensuring a seamless continuity of care. Centra's purchase, including the complete imaging facility situated on Nationwide Drive along with its assets, was effective December 1, 2023.
With this change, patients will continue to access the comprehensive suite of imaging services they have come to trust and rely on through Lynchburg Radiology. This includes MRI and CT scans, ultrasounds, bone density and diagnostic X-rays, all supported by the same radiologists who have served the Lynchburg community for decades. These providers will remain under Lynchburg Radiology as a private practice and will provide the professional interpretations for the imaging center.
Thomas Angelo, Vice President of Imaging Services at Centra said this partnership will offer patients the outstanding customer service they are accustomed to, with the same providers, ensuring their access to the best care possible.

Central Virginia Imaging will become Centra Central Virginia Imaging.
