As part of a movement to promote health and being active in nature, Centra is inviting residents of the Farmville area to the kickoff Walk with a Doc event on March 9, 2023 from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
The event will take place on the Dogwood Trail which is located adjacent to Centra Southside Community Hospital. During the event, Dr. Graham Nelsen, an OB/GYN at CMG Southside Women’s Center will share ways women can improve their health and explain the importance of regular wellness exams at every stage of life.
Following the health talk by Dr. Nelsen, the group will take a short, self-paced walk. Participants are encouraged to ask questions and socialize in this fun, relaxed setting. Free T-shirts and refreshments will also be provided for those who attend.
Walk with a Doc is an international non-profit organization that helps communities around the world launch walking groups led by local healthcare providers that provide a fun and free opportunity for physical activity, health education, social connection and time in nature.
