Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

Completing the FAFSA with the Centra College school code (015347) allows eligible students to be considered for institutional and federal student aid, including Federal Pell Grant and Federal Direct Loans. Filling out the FAFSA is free and must be completed annually. After submitting your FAFSA application, you will receive a Student Aid Report (SAR) within 1-2 weeks. Your SAR provides information about estimated federal aid and whether or not you’ve been selected for verification.

Verification

Each year the U.S. Department of Education selects a number of FAFSAs for a process called verification. If your FAFSA is selected for verification, Centra College will need to collect documentation from you to verify some of the information you provided on your FAFSA. The information may include the number of people in your household, the number of people attending college in your household, tax information, identity, and/or other information. Centra College will email your college email with a list of documents needed for the review. All requested documents must be submitted before the review process can begin.

If your financial or family situation has drastically changed since completing your FAFSA, you could submit a Professional Judgement request.
