About Me
Dr. Higey is board certified in Internal Medicine - Cardiovascular Disease, Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology and a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation for Anatomic Pathology. After earning his medical degree from University of Virginia School of Medicine, he received additional training through a residency in Internal Medicine at Wilford Hall Medical Center, and a fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease at Fellowship San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium. He loves caring for the Lynchburg community because it offers the unique opportunity to serve a large population of patients from both rural and urban settings alongside a talented and compassionate team. When he is not providing care at the Heart and Vascular Institute, he likes to spend his time with his family working on their farm.
