Our approach

Your benefits are a major part of your total compensation – adding more than 25% to your salary! Recognizing the diversity of our population, we provide flexible plans, so you can choose based on your individual and family needs. With Centra’s benefits plan, you and your family can:

You'll enroll in your benefits using an online enrollment site annually during open enrollment. If you are a new hire looking to enroll into benefits, you will go online at ElectBenefits.com/Centra or call our Centra Benefits Enrollment Center to enroll at 888.659.1475.

When to enroll

  • New hires will have 31 days from your hire date to enroll in benefits.
  • Current employees must enroll during the annual open enrollment period.
  • If you have had a qualified life event, you will have 31 days from the date of qualifying life event to enroll in or make changes to your benefits.

Paying for your benefits

If you enroll in our medical, dental, flexible spending accounts or retirement savings plan, your cost will be deducted from your paycheck before your income taxes are taken out. This lowers your taxable income. Our goal is to create healthy communities, now and in the future. As an incentive to be tobacco-free, we offer discounted rates for our medical plan. 

If you are employed full-time or part-time, the deduction each pay period for your medical benefits will be based on your rate of pay. Your premium for supplemental life and critical illness insurance would be based on your age and salary, so as you enter a new age band, your premium will increase. Premiums for dependent life for children are based on the desired amount of coverage.

Premiums for disability coverage are based on your base annual salary and age and do not include shift differential or overtime in the calculation. Spouses who are employed by Centra and eligible for benefits can be covered either as an employee or as a dependent, but not both. Also, your dependent children may only be covered by one of you.

Whom may I enroll in my benefits?

Your dependents are eligible for many of the plans we offer. Eligible dependents include:

  • Your legal spouse
  • Your dependent children up to age 26
  • Your disabled dependent children of any age

The term “children” shall include natural children, stepchildren, adopted children, and children placed with a covered employee by an authorized placement agency or by court order.

Note: If your spouse is eligible for medical coverage through another employer, you may still elect to cover them under Centra’s medical plan. Please note, a surcharge of $50 per bi-weekly pay period will be assessed.
